Copper Queen Library Adds Online Chilton Manuals

BISBEE, AZ – Car won’t start? Engine making a “funny” noise? Wonder if there have ever been any recalls on the car your family’s driving? Wish you had a way to find out?

Well, wish no more! In partnership with the Cochise County Library District, the Copper Queen Library is pleased to announce the addition of the EBSCO Auto Repair Reference Center™ (ARRC) to its growing number of online resources. Library cardholders may search The Auto Repair Reference Center™ both at the Copper Queen Library or at home by connecting through the Library’s web site. Login with a valid Copper Queen Library card is required.

ARRC contains complete automotive repair information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for most vintage makes starting as far back as 1954 (and starting in 1945 for Jeep).

The step-by-step procedures are written specifically for the Do-It-Yourselfer but are comprehensive enough for professional technicians.

Based on the printed Chilton Manuals, the ARRC database makes it possible for libraries to offer over 50 years worth of automotive information twenty-four hours a day without requiring the enormous amount of expense and shelf space needed for individual copies of the printed manuals. And, users can print individual pages of each manual as needed.

ARRC Online contains data on approximately 25,000 domestic and imported vehicles from 1954 to the present, with over 100,000 factory drawings and step-by-step photographs (including wiring diagrams). More than 80,000 technical service bulletins & recalls issued by the original equipment vehicle manufacturer, as well as specifications and maintenance schedules, a Labor Time Guide & Estimator, and Quick Tips (a complete guide to vehicle ownership & maintenance) are also included.
