I Just Read... Game Change:

.
Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and The Race of A Lifetime (by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin)
.
--by Hanje Richards
.
I was one of those people who became addicted to CNN during the last Presidential campaign and election. So, you might wonder why I would want to read Game Change -- which is pretty much a blow-by-blow of that entire election cycle. Well, it is exactly for that reason that I found the occasional behind-the-scene tidbits fascinating. Things I had wondered about suddenly made sense after reading Game Change...
.
Find out why Sarah Palin started out the Vice Presidential debate by asking Joe Biden if she could call him Joe. Learn about Elizabeth Edwards’ off-camera personality. What were the things that got under Barack Obama’s skin, and what just rolled off his back? Compare and contrast Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama as the candidates’ wives. Follow the ups and downs of Hillary and Bill. And don’t forget John Edwards and Rielle Hunter. How were the Vice-Presidential candidates vetted and ultimately selected?
.
It was juicy the first time around, and now, with the aid of authors John Heilmemann and Mark Halperin, we can see it all even more clearly .
.
It is kind of like watching a re-run of America’s Next Top Model. You know ahead of time who is going to win, but the second time through you catch nuances that you missed the first time. If Presidential politics are your thing, this is a great read.
